Overnight Oats - made with gluten-free porridge oats and a2 Milk, perfect for anyone suffering with IBS!

Breakfast can get boring, with the same old same old! Cereals start to taste like cardboard, porridge can become bland, and there's not enough time to make pancakes every day!

So what if I told you that just 5 minutes of your time in the evening could leave you with a truly delicious breakfast by morning?

Yes, really!

Just 5 minutes of your time before you go to bed, and you’ll have a delicious, healthy breakfast all ready to go in the morning.

Simply make it in a jar, and you’ve got breakfast to go, no excuses!

Don’t just stick to apples and cinnamon either, use any combination of fruit, as well as spices!

We've used gluten-free porridge oats to help reduce IBS symptoms.

And, we've teamed them with our favourite spice from Schwartz, cinnamon. It's perfect for a warm, cosy feeling, and when paired with apple, works beautifully.

We're also using a2 Milk™. I am a big fan of a2 Milk™ as it has helped me immensely with my own IBS struggles! For many many years I suffered with cramping, bloating, discomfort and more and when I discovered a2 Milk™ and started to use it, it was a revelation! My symptoms started to disappear, and after 4 weeks the difference was just incredible. I don't use any other milk now, unless I am out and have no other choice. I can tell straight away if I use different milk, and immediately get bloated and suffer cramping, which can take a few days to recover from.

For those of you who've not tried it before, a2 Milk™ is essentially still dairy milk (so NOT safe for those of you with a dairy allergy), but it is produced by cows that have a2 DNA. Milk that you typically pick up from the supermarket is a mix of a1 and a2 protein. It is the a1 protein that is proven to cause the symptoms I used to suffer from, such as cramping, bloating, discomfort. I wrote about it in depth last year, to help explain it better. Take a look here for more details!

So, back to Overnight Oats, stick your stopwatches on, and see just how quick this is!

You will need:

  • 2oz (110g) Tesco gluten-free porridge oats
  • 4fl oz (110ml) a2 Milk™
  • ½ tsp Schwartz Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Maple Syrup

Add the oats, a2 Milk, ground cinnamon and maple syrup to a jar, and stir until well combined.

Cover with the jar lid, and place in the fridge overnight. (During this time, the porridge oats will absorb the milk)

Remove from the fridge, chop up some fresh apple to sprinkle over the overnight oats and serve.

(see, I promised it was super quick and super simple!)
