THE book you wished you had when allergies were first diagnosed!

Living with allergies a guide to living and thriving with allergies - everything you need to know in the early days of diagnosis of allergies. Book surrounded by inhaler, epi pens, antihistamines and steroids. www.intolerantgourmand.com

We were sent this fabulous book to review, and from the moment I started reading this wonderful book, I knew it was going to be good!

As regular readers will know, my little boy Callum was diagnosed with multiple severe allergies over 6 years ago, and after a big fight for diagnosis, we were pretty much left to our own devices to figure out what to do next, how to feed him safely, how to understand what was happening and recognise reactions.

It meant a lot of guess work, learning how to understand symptoms, what to look out for, and how to avoid certain foods. Your whole way of life as to transform as you learn to live with allergies safely and successfully.

Everyday things that you take for granted become difficult, confusing and worrying.

Simply buying food takes longer as you learn to read labels.

Food and symptom diaries become a new way of life.

Analysing possible triggers.

The lovely Emma, who blogs at Free From Farmhouse faced similar struggles, and decided to do something about it.

She has created an effective bible on allergies, a must read, and 'go to' for anyone navigating the allergies journey at the beginning. It is packed full of information from leading consultants, and practical tips and advice. The book is like holding your hand as you work your way through a dark tunnel before reaching the end armed with everything you need to see you through successfully!

All the questions we all have at the beginning, from trying to get a diagnosis, to finally receiving a diagnosis and figuring out what on earth to do in the early days are all answered in this well written and cleverly thought out book.

It offers detailed advice, help and reassurance at a time when you need it most, from someone who has ‘lived it’ and understands the battles you face, the concerns you have, as well as the worry and the ‘what ifs’.

There are also practical tips from allergy parents, including myself and Callum and the things we’ve found that have helped us.

Add to that the fact the book has been endorsed by Allergy UK, and you know it’s going to be good!

If you're unsure of whether to buy it or not, BUY IT! I promise, you won't be disappointed!

It’s already become a best seller on Amazon, sold out twice, and has been nominated for an award.

Suffice to say I’m incredibly proud of my friend, and fellow allergy mum, and I know her book will help many!
