We’ve been alluding to something big happening on the blog for a few weeks now, and it’s time to finally reveal all!

Callum picnic

As you all know, we work quite closely with Allergy UK, and advocate the service they provide to the many people who suffer with allergies. Quite frankly, we would not be in the place we are in now without their support and guidance in the early days prior to Callum’s diagnosis.

Because of this, we want to do all we can to give a little back.

A couple of months ago, I was asked if I would be interested in helping Allergy UK to promote their #freefromfeast fundraising event. Making food I cook all the time, plus the opportunity to meet up with friends old and new, knowing Callum was able to enjoy the food as it would be totally safe for him, and watching everyone have fun whilst promoting one of our favourite charities – Of course I was going to say yes!

In my post a couple of weeks ago, I talked about what the #freefromfeast is all about. Here’s a quick reminder:

Every year, Allergy UK hold an event which is hosted by people up and down the country, to raise awareness of the charity, and also raise funds. This can be done in many ways, as long as the food involved is #freefrom - so it could be a picnic, like we did with Mel from Le Coin de Mel, a bbq with friends and family which could even become a street party, or you could even hold a cake and bake stall!

Callum Fundraising

Callum has been so excited about raising money for Allergy UK, he’s hosted a picnic with friends, a bbq with family, and also a cake stall at his big sister Chloe’s school – all of which have been a huge success!

He’s so very close to his target now, so if you would like to help him reach it, he would be so grateful (as would Allergy UK and I!) if you would visit the link here!

Want to get involved?

You could host your very own #freefromfeast too, there’s still time! This year, it takes place on Friday 12th June, and the weather is meant to be pretty good….! If you’re feeling inspired, why not register with Allergy UK now to join in. They will send you absolutely everything you will need to get started, and I promise you will have so much fun!

This year, the #freefromfeast is being sponsored by the wonderful ‘The Basket Company’ who have very kindly offered some pretty amazing competition prizes!
